width="575" height="293" /></div> <div id="apDiv2"> <p>Chris Warren & Leslie Burett<br /> <br /> Dan and Julia Rickards, owners of the Clearwater Gallery in Sisters, are very proud to be featuring gourd and basket artists Leslee Burtt and Chris Warren. These two women, who never mind being referred to as the "gourdacious babes," have been good family friends and long time business partners for over twenty years. The collaboration of their skills and talents results in interesting, functional and beautiful art with wide appeal. </p> <p>Gourds and baskets have served utilitarian needs for centuries; today they also provide a distinctive backdrop for creative arts. Their finely hand-woven baskets also stand alone. Each basket’s unique antler handle serves as the women’s signature with the antler dictating the shape and size of each creation. Chris uses materials primarily from the Northwest and finds that making art from objects that would otherwise die, decay or be destroyed a valuable use of her time and talent.
